Hanami Tea Set
My final project for a ceramics class. The goal was to create a wheel thrown tea set for three people and to stylize the set after a culture of our own choice. I chose to style mine after the Japanese culture, and in particular the Hanami (flower viewing) season. The set consists of a teapot (with sakura blossoms hand painted on, hand-built branch-styled handle and spout, as well as a hand-built sakura blossom on the lid), three cups with lids and saucers, a Hakkebon dessert tray (with the Chinese divination symbols hand painted inside), three dessert plates, and a flower vase.
